What types of treatments do we use?
Chronic pain is a complicated syndrome which has many different types of treatments, ranging from non-invasive methods to surgery. We work with each patient to find what treatment is beneficial for you. Some of the techniques we use include:
• Physical therapy Injection procedures such as facet-joint injections, selective nerve root blocks, steroid injections, and trigger-point injections.
• Surgery, including implantable pain devices to treat nerve entrapment pain syndromes, intrathecal pumps, dorsal column stimulators, spinal endoscopy, nucleoplasty, and radio-frequency lesioning.
It is estimated that 15% to 33% of the U.S. population, or as many as 70 million people, are affected by chronic pain. It disables more people than cancer or heart disease and costs the American people more than both combined. Pain costs an estimated $100 billion a year in medical costs, lost working days, and workers compensation.
